A brief Guide to ink cartridges...

Whether simply replacing your printer cartridges or checking the price of consumables for your new printer, it may be useful to know a little more about exactly what options are available to you and the associated terminology. Below is a brief guide to the main types of ink cartridge.

Original or "Genuine" ink cartridges
Original ink cartridges are usually made by the manufacturer of your printer. and are also known as OEM inks (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Without doubt these inks will provide the end user with the best quality when printing digital images, but are often quite expensive.

Compatible ink cartridges
Compatible cartridges (sometimes referred to as generic cartridges) are made by third party companies and are often much cheaper than the manufacturer branded inks. Quality can vary enormously, so it's important to choose a reputable consumables supplier. Using third party cartridges will only invalidate your printer warranty if damage is proved to have been caused by their use. All Inkmasters compatible inks are fully guaranteed.

Remanufactured ink cartridges
Remanufactured cartridges are ink cartridges that have been used previously and then recycled. All our remanufactured ink cartridges are fully tested and re-engineered in laboratory conditions to ensure that the cartridge will work perfectly after the recycling process. There are many companies that sell cartridges that are simply drilled and filled. This is not the same as recycling. Whilst these consumables may be cheap, they often will not work to an acceptable standard.

If you're looking for great value printing then you really cannot go wrong with our high quality compatible and remanufactured / re-engineered inks, which we have available for most printers. Recent technology advances ensure printing results will be almost discernible from the more expensive OEM printer inks.
